All About "The Bats and The Hornets" or Was It "The Birds and the Bees"?

"Mom. Is S-P-X a swear word???" Me: "S-P-X?" Her: "Yes." Me: "Nooo..." Her: "So, 'sex' isn't a swear word?" Me: "Oh. s-e-x. Um, no, it's not really a swear word. It's just one of those words we don't really need to have discussions about at this age." Her: "'Cause I read something about, "..dog's sex..." Me...and 12 y.o.: "Oh...in that sense it's gender. Like, is it a boy or a girl."

Later. Her: "Mom. Holli told me that 'sex' is a swear word." *Back to that again* Me: "Well, there is another meaning to that word that I will have to...uhhh...try to figure out at some time how to explain to you. But you really don't need to know much about that meaning quite yet!"

Oh these enlightening conversations you're never quite prepared for!

warning, NEVER say within earshot that someone (ie hubby) is sexy. They all gasp and then go "ewwww". I never learn
SPX, that's great.

Thanks for your comment on my blog about my story. I was blessed to have my mom for as long as I did. I can't imagine going through what you had to at such a young age. It truly is something that no one else understands except those who have lost their own mothers. I read your story also, and it touched me too. Especially the part about your birthday being the day after hers. My oldest's birthday is the day after mine.

You also are my newest hero! Six girls and one on the way? I can barely keep up with my 3! That is awesome though. Having girls is so much fun!

Best wishes for your new baby on the way!
